DRIADE FAIRY FOREST Blazer

This blazer piece emerged from a personal research journey sparked by my DNA test results, which revealed previously unknown family roots in Manchester. During my visit, relatives gifted me these garments—pieces that are now nearly disappearing, as they date back more than a century. Crafted from sumptuous velvet and adorned with intricate embroidery and opulent buttons typical of its time. Museum-worthy and profoundly rare, they are not intended for wear. Presented at NYFW SS, these blazers stand as archival LAKRAS artworks, preserving a lineage, a history, and a legacy in textile form.

Made from corn — maíz, a sacred Latin material.

It’s compostable: it returns to the earth, leaving no trace but renewal.
